There's a weird au courant phrase running around that really rubs my goat the wrong way. It's "talent acquisition."

I find the wording offensive on a couple of levels.

First off, people aren't talent. They're people. Stop using nomenclature to render us inanimate.

Second, we are not to be acquired.

You acquire a chair. Or a painting. Or new pots and pans.

You don't own me.

And never will.
