A reminder.

A reminder to all those who feel they can treat people like crap because there are no jobs out there. So, fuck 'em, is the attitude. They'll take whatever shove with shiv them with.

This is from Albert Schweitzer:

“Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”

well, wish it was that simple. But it sounds good. I know several people who love what they're doing and they are not successful at all. They may be somewhat happy though.

I love my job--the people and the projects make me happy, even if it has its share of craziness and frustration (which just makes the good times better).

I'd say, though, that any place that treats you like crap in an interview would have treated you like crap in good times, too. People's natures aren't so easily changed. Eons ago, I went for an interview at lunch hour , and the woman was late, spoke to her boss for 15 minutes in the hallway with me standing there like a chump, then wouldn't meet my eyes in the interview and sighed the whole time. Would that I was older and wiser, I would have walked right out. She had no right to waste my time--but she sure as hell felt she did.

People like that remind us that we should try to be kinder in life.
