40 years ago tomorrow.

I was sitting in Mr. Weiner's English class, parsing sentences, and we were told the National Guard killed four college students at a place we never heard of, Kent State.

I don't know how many weeks later we started hearing this song by Neil Young.

Ohio.

Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin'.
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drummin'.
Four dead in Ohio.

Gotta get down to it.
Soldiers are gunning us down.
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her and
Found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?

Gotta get down to it.
Soldiers are cutting us down.
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her and
Found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin'.
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drummin'.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.

A far cry from Lady Gaga. Dontcha think?

George, I'll write a song if you'll shoot Lady Gaga.
