Ad Aged, for all the posting I do, has remained (and I suppose I like it this way) resolutely unpopular.
A year ago I had been averaging about 2000 readers a week. For whatever reason, Ad Aged has sunk from there, to about 1600 readers a week. A 20% decrease.
My scant readership is OK with me, really.
I like to fashion myself after the great journalist I.F. Stone, whose weekly raked muck and exposed scandals and ousted scoundrels but never had a readership of more than 70,000/week. (When the "New York Times'" circulation was pushing two million.)
Now let me switch gears a bit.
Somewhere out in the south Pacific Ocean I've heard there's a giant eddy of floating trash the size of the state of Texas. This is the loose detritus of our filthy species collected by time and tide.
Somehow that floating trash reminds me of the internet.
Every stray thought.
Every scurrilous scam.
Every bit of binary bullshit will eventually assail you.
Like I said, Ad Aged is resolutely unpopular.
Why then are my comments subject to so much spam.
Particularly spam from this morning which advertised:
