THE H STO Y CHA VFL

Driving over the Triboro Bridge this morning I see the giant neon sign for what most people call The History Channel. Only a lot of the neon is gone.

Perhaps the neon letters are... history?

Maybe as their contribution to Earth Day tomorrow they reduced energy consumption of the sign by 17.6%.

I somehow doubt it though.

Ah, the George I've always loved. Are the neon tubes half full or half empty?

The power of accurate observation is often called "half-empty"-ism.

speaking about isms, the lookism (as you mentioned a few days ago) at its worst , in its most arrogant and ugly form was hard at work in the case of Susan Boyle. Glad she blew their socks off and hopefully had some people look into themselves in the process.
